It's Chili in the Great Outdoors

Today was the Young Adult Chili Cook-Off.
We named ours "It's Chili in the Great Outdoors". What alot of fun it was. We really had a BLAST! There were 7 entries for the Best Chili & 5 entries for Best Dressed the Part. Unfortunately Danny & I didn't win either, but that's OK.... Aside from the 1st place winners, we were the only one's that didn't get to bring leftovers home. I think, it was pretty good! (thumbs up) We also were the only ones that didn't cook with beef or sausage. Although, most people EXPECTED us to use deer meat, we did surprise them. We used buffalo. Yes, I said buffalo. (FYI, you can buy buffalo at the Central Market in Dallas) We served it inside a 5 gallon bucket with a toilet lid on top of it.... Many different reactions!!!! I think there was only 1 person that didn't care for the idea. Over all, it was LOADS of fun & wonderful fellowship! Thank you Steve & Marsha for hosting at your home & thank you to Bro. Dennis, Mrs. Sharon, Bro. Joe, Mrs. Christine, Bro. James, Mrs. Lisa & Mrs. Maryann for judging. Can't wait til next year....

Is America a Godly Nation?



Of course, MOST of us would say "yes", but do we know why? In our Sunday School Class this has been the subject for 10 weeks now. I have to be honest and say, at first I was all but thrilled to do this study. However, I have learned so much! And to beable to teach the kids what I am learning is such a blessing! I love being able to tell them that it is OK to carry their Bible to school or that they CAN pray over thier food or for eachother while at school. But now, not only am I able to tell them that, but I can also tell them why it is OK & that their teachers, principal or even the government CAN NOT tell them otherwise! If our soldiers can pray while at war, why can't we pray while we are in a school building?





Who had to learn the preamble in school?

Did you know that our Nation's Founding Father's were God Fearing Men? Thomas Jefferson even took the Bible and wrote what people now call the Jefferson Bible or by it's orignial name, The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth. Many people believe that Jefferson was a diest and that he "re-wrote" the Bible to fit his needs. However, this is WRONG! Jefferson actually took the time to study God's Holy Word & put the 4 gospels in chronological order. THAT'S ALL! Benjamin Frankin is the one who introduced the practice of DAILY prayer at the Constituational Convention in June of 1787. And we even get our 3 branches of government from scriptures. "For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; he will save us." Isaiah 33:22

Bright & Early....

Bright & early came WAY earlier than expected this morning, as once again I was woke up by my cell phone ringing! Huummm.... Maybe I need to quit sleeping with it under my pillow or better yet TURN IT OFF! Yeah RIGHT, like that is gonna happen. Anyway, we again had a non-stop day....

  1. Call dog groomer's
  2. Call bank
  3. Drop dog's off at the groomer's
  4. Go to Wal-Mart
  5. Bomb House (spiders & fleas) ~takes 4 hours~
  6. Eat lunch ~ Who has time for lunch? Not I
  7. Clean Sunday School Classroom
  8. Home School Hunter ~ WHAT? WHEN? ~~NEXT~~
  9. Pick dog's up from groomer's
  10. Call bank back
  11. Call Dad
  12. Buy a replacement tag for the car (we think Danny through it away)
  13. Go walking/Have P.E.
  14. 2:30pm Finally, we can head home now
  15. Treat the yard for spiders & fleas
  16. Go weigh in @ Weight Watchers
  17. Dinner
Now that we are all caught up....


WOW!!! Why didn't we know we have been doing wrong? Couldn't someone have told us? :-)

Seriously tho, weigh-in went AWESOME. I lost 3.4lbs this week. That's too cool!!!! I am so proud of myself for sticking with it. Sometimes, I just don't feel like counting points, driving to Gun Barrel JUST to weigh-in, eating healthy ALL the time.... I mean, ggggeeeesssshhhhhhh, can't a girl get a break? But, you know what, IT'S ALL WORTH IT!!!!! 2 months ago I couldn't even fit into my jeans... Today, they are too big for me! :-) I have lost over 20lbs total! Woo the Hoo.... I am so excited! I'm gonna get skinny again!

I know, I know.... you all wanna know what's going on with the van. Well, after several calls between myself, the bank & my Dad; we are kinda on "hold" for the moment. It is still a go! There are just a couple of hurdle's we still gotta jump over before she is in our possession. The bank will not loan any amount of money out on a vehicle before they have the title in hand & of course, the seller will not allow the bank to have the title until he gets his money. OK, so now what? IDK!!! Just gotta ride it out & see who budges 1st I guess. My Dad is working on it & he even said he might just pay for it in cash & then have the bank pay him back after we get it. Again, IDK.... we just gotta pray & let God work it out!

I promise to keep you updated on this process & you will be the 1st to know when it is all said & done & she is sitting in our driveway! :-)

Happy Birthday!

I would like to start of tonight by saying Happy Birthday to my little girl, Chedelene. I can not wait to see you again! Miss ya & love ya so much! Mwah....




Next I would like to introduce you to Aydin Grace Bostic... I can not wait to meet you & watch you grow into a beautiful princess for the Lord!

What an adventure today was.... I woke up to my phone ringing this morning. It was my Dad informing me of a 2005 Kia Sedona that was listed for $4,100 on ebay with 8 hours left. I looked it up and soon came to terms with the fact that this might be the one I have been waiting on. I quickly called the bank and discussed loan value & payments. Now, I am really excited!!!! Loan value is $5,200 & on a 36 mth note our payments will be less than $200 a month. Woo the Hoo! I am so tickled pink..... Now, I just gotta wait 8 hours to see what the total price will be & IF WE ARE GONNA HAVE THE HIGHEST BID or not. Very anxious day.... the last hour I was getting really excited & in constant prayer.... When I realized there were only 15mins left & we had the current high bid @ $4,700 I began to get really nervous. I prayed so hard for it to be God's Will for us to "win" this vehicle. Is this really the one I have been waiting on? Is it really gonna happen? Might I actually buy a car today? So MANY question going through my mind. 5:34 was the time that the auction ended. It's 5:32 & start to shake. Now, I know this is just a van, but its a van that (by this time) I really had my heart sat on getting. WE WON!!!!!!!!!! She is ours. Seriously? For Real? Honestly? Did I really buy the van I have been waiting on for so long? YES!!!! :-D She is all ours....




Tomorrow I will be on the phone with the banker bright & early.... Then there is just one more step before she is ours. We gotta go pick her up. Remember, I mentioned we bought her on ebay. She is in Ohio. I know, right.... but when God answers a prayer, He answers. Looks like a Road Trip in my near future? Maybe???? We will see how all this pans out in the next day or so.

Toothache City.....

What a way to start the day off.... with a toothache! Ugghhh....& it hasn't let up at all! It hurts so bad that I have been in the bed since 6:30pm. I was not able to eat anything today til supper time. So for dinner I made soup. It turned out really good & my belly got full! However, it didn't not help my pain.... I wanna just have Danny get the tools & yank it out! aaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!!!
That would take care of the pain.... RIGHT??????

Well, on this day off from school, what did I do? Funny you should ask.... The ONLY thing that I got done was the grocery shopping. It took me 4 tries to actually get to the store.

  1. The dogs followed us & we had to return them to the house.

  2. I fogot my cash & credit card sitting on my dresser.

  3. My ads & coupons were left on the kitchen table.

  4. Successful trip to town! Yeah!

I feel like I ran an obstacle course today only to end up right back where I started with not much accomplished....

that's me ^ right now

No School Tomorrow

This blog will be a short one tonight as it is already 12:45am. Not alot happened today.... Hunter did DO 2 DAYS worth of school today :-) Waa Hoo!!!! No school tomorrow! I get to sleep in & then NOT worry about getting everything else done cause I WILL HAVE the time to do it! :-)

We also got the Rosetta Stone program this evening so Hunter can learn foreign languages. Therefore, tomorrow while I am doing all my household chores & grocery shopping, he will be watching the introduction videos to learn Spanish. (Which, btw, he has been asking for since we started.)

I also learned something new today! There is a website called http://www.picnik.com/ that is the coolest for editing your photos. (Thank you Misty.) Quick & easy way to edit.... I could spend ALL day messing around with pictures. Just some of the one's I did today.

You Can Sleep When You're Dead!

Where do you start? What do you say? How do you choose what happened to you today that you wanna share with the world?

I really don't know where I am supposed to start on this 30 day journey. I know that I am SO not too busy to commit to this, however, when we pulled up into the driveway this evening, I started to cry cause I am so OVERWHELMED!!!! I don't really have a whole lot going on right now, but what I do have.... takes up ALOT of my time. I tell ya, last week, we worked til 4 everyday on Hunter's homeschooling. & that's another thing.... How do you find time to grocery shop, wash clothes, vacuum, clean toilets, dust, fold clothes, prepared dinner & RELAX?????? I haven't figured that one out yet! I do LOVE the homeschooling & I wouldn't NOT trade it for any amount of time, however, sometimes, I do miss my days of doing nothing!

Hummm...... A day of doing NOTHING!!!! What is that?????

I sure sometimes wish my to-do-list looked like that! Wouldn't that be nice?

Today was a BUSY day! How many of you woke up EARLY this morning? Not just early, but and hour earlier than normal????? Well, of course, I did. I tried SO HARD to stay in bed.... NOPE, wasn't gonna happen. Needless to say, I ended up waking everyone else up early too & we arrived 30mins earlier to church than normal. It was kinda nice tho, not having to be in a hurry. After church we had lunch with my Mom & some friends. It was really nice getting to spend some time with Mom again. We haven't been able to sit down together in months! Good visit! :-) Shopping & more church, then a wedding....!



Today was a really good day too tho. God gave me a peace. The message this evening was in 2 Peter 1:1-11. You can read it all for yourself but I do want to focus on a few of the scriptures.

5. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; 6. And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; 7. And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.


Diligence - constant and earnest effort to accomplish what is undertaken; persistent exertion of body or mind.

Faith - confidence or trust in something.

Virtue - moral excellence; goodness; righteousness.

Knowledge - acquaintance with facts, truths, or principles, as from study or investigation.

Temperance - self-control.

Patience - the quality of being patient, as the bearing of provocation, annoyance, misfortune, or pain, WITHOUT complaint, loss of temper, irritation, or the like.

Godliness - Having great reverence for God.

Brotherly Kindness - the quality or state of being kind.

Charity - benevolent goodwill toward or love of humanity.


WOW, that sure puts those words into perspective for me!


I am ALWAYS supposed to give my whole self! Don't we become EXHAUSTED??? (Like I am right now.) Seriously, Jesus EXPECTS 100% of/from us at all times? Seriously???? But you know..... Jesus was human too. I am sure He knows what it is like to be exhausted.... therefore, it may be HARD, BUT NOT TO HARD!!!!!!!!!!!


& not only does He expect us to give 100%, 100% of the time, he also expects us to have virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, godliness, brotherly love & charity. ssseeeeeeessssshhhhhhhh what a mouth full.... but you know what He was! & even tho I am not perfect nor will I ever be, I am to STRIVE to be like HIM!!!!



So, tomorrow, I will diligently wake up & start my day the way Jesus would have me to. I know I will fail but I also know that He will forgive me & He will be there to pick me back up, bandage up my wounds & tell me it will be OK. He still loves me & NOTHING I ever do will change that! Praise God!
